ST. PAUL, MN --- If you’re in search of a nice doily or toaster oven cover, this is not your craft show. On Saturday, May 1, over 75 indie craft vendors will descend onto the Minnesota State Fairgrounds for the 5th annual St. Paul Craftstravaganza. From 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., attendees can browse tables bursting with handmade crafts and visit local artists, including more than 25 artisans new to the show. Organizations like the Textile Center will be conducting workshops throughout the day. Free swag bags with samples of vendors’ work will be available to the first 100 shoppers.

Andy Krueger, St. Paul Craftstravaganza’s organizer said, “We’re excited to produce our most diverse and eclectic show yet. The caliber of artists that participate in the event increases each year and I’m really impressed with the selection of artists we have for this year’s show”.

This year’s new artisans include: My Friend London, an artist that spins merino and shetland wool from Wisconsin sheep; Burlesque of North America, a graphic design and screenprinting studio based in Northeast Minneapolis; and Junk Drawers, a company that makes custom underwear from scrap and vintage materials. Among the returning vendors is Christopher Straub, who recently appeared as a contestant on Season Six of Project Runway.
