7th Annual Craftstravaganza doubles in size May 12 Event Adds Second Building; Over 70 More Artist Booths

ST. PAUL, MN --- Thousands of shoppers descend on the Minnesota State Fairgrounds each spring for the St. Paul Craftstravaganza. For one day the Fine Arts Building is transformed into a bustling bazaar of handmade art and crafts. For the first time ever, the event is spreading into a second building, the next-door Progress Center.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, attendees can browse the offerings of over 140 artists in both buildings. Free workshops are scheduled throughout the day in the Progress Center. And, as always, the first 100 shoppers will receive free swag bags with samples of vendors’ work and other goodies.

This year’s activities include opportunities to:

  • Make jewelry that looks (and smells!) like tiny food
  • Contribute to an ongoing yarn-bombing installation at the Yelp booth
  • Learn about selling your art to a shop with the owners of I Like You
  • Submit your entry in the City Pages craft contest
  • ...and more!

“Both our shoppers and vendors have been asking for a bigger event,” said Craftstravaganza founder Andy Krueger. “Expanding across the street has allowed us to meet that demand without moving away from the fantastic Fine Arts Building. This is our biggest year by far, and the size of the show is only exceeded by the anticipation of our participants!"
