Megabass fishing lures

Pink Tentacle posted a feature on this year's Good Design Expo highlighting several amazing products. There's a special ink for meat labels that changes color with the freshness of the meat inside, cute "kissing octopus" flash drives that double as magnets, and rice spoons that stand on end. It's worth a quick look.
What really caught our attention were the Megabass fishing lures. The lures are "built using cutting-edge technology and natural materials." We don't do much fishing, but we know what we like, and these lures are beautifully designed. Practical use aside, each one is an objet d'art on its own. They would not look out of place in a gallery exhibit. Or remove the hooks, stick them in blind boxes, and you've got a new line of collectible toys. They've already got fanciful names like "Gatta-X" and "Anthrax Wakey" that are a perfect match for the vinyl market.
If you like these, also check out Coop's Flickr collection of vintage fishing lures and this selection of limited-edition "punk rock" lures (also from Japan).
